Travis Ganong

Travis Ganong is more than a world-class downhill skier—he’s a lifelong advocate for the mountain lifestyle, community development, and the next generation of athletes. Born and raised in Alpine Meadows, he calls Palisades Tahoe home, a place where he not only honed his skills but also found inspiration for his next chapter beyond ski racing.

After 18 years as a member of the U.S. Ski Team and a career filled with podiums, Olympic representation, and a silver medal at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, Travis made the decision to step away from World Cup racing after a third-place finish in the famed Hahnenkamm Downhill in Kitzbühel in 2023. His focus now? Reconnecting with his skiing roots in Tahoe, embracing big mountain and backcountry skiing, mentoring the next generation, and ensuring the ski community he grew up in continues to thrive. His ultimate goal, however, is simple—more days lapping KT-22!

Beyond the slopes, Travis is passionate about giving back. He is deeply involved in shaping the future of Olympic Valley through Project Olympic, an initiative focused on sustainable development, community spaces, education, and preserving the region’s legacy. As a co-founder and owner of Pacific Crest Coffee Co., Travis is also committed to fostering local business and creating spaces where the ski community can gather and share their passion.

With a background in global business and ski resort management, Travis is applying his experience to drive innovation in mountain culture, ensuring that future generations of skiers, adventurers, and locals have the same opportunities he had growing up. His story is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the responsibility to give back to the community that shaped him.
